HISTORY

Beginning back in the early 1900's, Osseo & Maple Grove became the leader in entertaining almost a hundred baseball fans across the upper northwest suburbs - with their lightning fast reflexes, thundering bats, and really swell-looking uniforms! This year promises to be no different. With most of the original players returning, and new players from Plymouth and Wayzata, the team will strive to continue on with their great grandfathers proud tradition known as ".500 Baseball"

Plymouth pitching legend Renaldo "Shopping Cart" Wiggums shows off some of his dazzling form in pre-game warm-ups (circa. 1924)

Coached by the great Thomas "Greasy-palms" Johnson, the original OMG team ran up an impressive 212-424 record before he and all his players were indicted on "bat-corking" charges. Coach Johnson denied all charges stating emphatically... "A bat is only as corked as it’s wielder." (Nobody, to this day knows what the heck he was talking about.)

Wayzata’s Harley "Carp-belly" Watson prepares to take a pitch from a weary adversary. (circa. 1927)

It is possible that some of this content may not be entirely the truth. Either way, one has to admit that it does sound like a lot of fun to play for this team!
